The month you choose really matters! September still carries those late-summer vibes, with lots of greenery, but it can be a bit chilly at times. Late September to early October is the perfect time to visit pumpkin patches. From mid- to late October, you’ll usually catch the peak of the colorful autumn leaves.
November, however, can be very unpredictable. I recommend scheduling your fall family photoshoot no later than the first half of November. In just a few weeks, the beautiful leaves can fall completely or a sudden storm might even cover them with snow!
The best time for a Fall Family Photoshoot in Basel is either early in the morning, starting around 8:00, if you love a bit of moodiness and want to capture the soft light and misty, foggy landscapes. Alternatively, a sunset session (my personal favorite) usually between 17:00 and 19:00, is ideal for enhancing those rich, golden autumn tones and creating that cozy, warm atmosphere everyone loves in fall photos.
